Tournament Coordinator Role

STEERING COMMITTEE OPEN ROLE ANNOUNCEMENT 

Position: Tournament Coordinator

Term: 2 Years (all Steering Committee roles are 2 year terms)

Steering Committee Voting Privileges: Yes

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates and organizes all BRYHC hosted youth tournaments to meet all deadlines set forth by the Steering Committee

Receives and reviews tournament registrations

Supervises and coordinates proper hosting duties (group rates, travel, hotels, welcome items/snack packs, etc.) 

Ensures compliance with and satisfaction of all USA Hockey tournament rules and requirements 

Submits tournament information to OSHA for certification and coordinates with Finance Manager for payment

Secures necessary officials through OHOA for any applicable home tournaments 

Arranges for tournament awards and medals 

Arranges for tournament vendors and sponsors 

Coordinates/supervises all tournament volunteers including support from Hospitality Subcommittee

Works with the Finance Manager to establish the tournament budget and registration costs.

Tournament Communications:

- Provides tournament information, requirements, etc. to visiting teams 

- Oversees tournament pages on Rapids website and accuracy of content (with support from Webmaster). 

- Prepares emails as needed for distribution to Tournament email newsletter list (in conjunction with Communications Coordinator)

Most importantly your efforts will have a direct effect of the experience the athletes and their families have with the Rapids each season. 

You will have a direct say and input in the direction of the club. 

Members of the committee with children in the club receive a $1000 credit against their athlete's team fees. This refund/credit is distributed at the end of the season. 

REQUIREMENTS

Attend Monthly Steering Committee Meetings.

Contribute the time needed to effectively support the responsibilities of this role. 

Provide consistent communications to the designated member of the Executive Committee (Finance Manager).
