IMPORTANT DATES

• April 18 & 19, 2026 - Tryouts/Evaluations for 14U through 18U all levels (B/A/AA) includes Cascade Selects. 
• 5/29 - Team Overview for 2026-27 Announced
• 6/1/26 - Deadline to provide sizing information for Rapids branded warm-ups produced by Bend based Anvil Sportswear (Thank you!). No upfront cost. Cost will be included in the Team Fees paid during registration. Head to the Pavilion to try on samples to confirm sizing. Samples are by the concession stand in the lobby.
• 7/6/26 - Dryland training 8-week program begins. Learn more or register.
• 7/9/26 - Registration opened for Rapids home tournaments.
• 7/15/26 - Season registration opened.
• 7/31/26 - Season registration closes for all age levels except 8U.
• early October - Gear Swap & Bend Ice Season Kickoff Social
• mid-October - Pavilion ice sheet build.
• late-October - Practices begin (estimated / weather dependent).
• mid-November - Club wide meeting

Scholarships - The Rapids continue to offer scholarships to help offset team fees. 

Uniforms - Athletes can reuse uniforms from last season as long as they fit, are in decent condition, and there are no jersey number conflicts. Rapids branded warmups added to uniform kit for 10U and above. Purchase full uniform kit or single pieces during Season Registration. Refer to the Uniform page for further details.

Jersey Numbers - We recently deployed the Crossbar jersey number management module into registration this year which follows the number priority system as described on the Uniform page. All player numbers from last year were added to athletes profile. During registration the system will detect any number conflicts and advise in real time if that is the case, and offer available choices.

Power Skating Clinic - Christian Grunnah will return in December to lead a multi-day power skating clinic for all age divisions.

Goalie Discount - 14U and above goaltenders receive 50% discount on Team Fees.

Season Kickoff / Gear Swap - The annual Bend Ice Season Kickoff and Gear Swap at the Pavilion (date/time TBD - likely 1st weekend in October). Everyone's invited!

Home Tournaments - The Bend Winter Classic (12U/14U) is January 22-24, Cascade Invitational (10U) is Feb 12-14. See you there!

Friday Drop In Skills Hour - Back by popular demand! This practice typically combines multiple age divisions and rotates teams and coaches. 

Tier II / AA Games to Start the Season - Tier II hockey teams from around the PNW come to town to take on the Rapids. Bring your friends and family!

*Goalie practice on Monday evening is only through December.

**Drop In Skills hour from 7-8am on Friday is team specific (sometimes multiple teams will combine for the hour) and will rotate. Check your team calendars for details.

TEAM FEES

Team fees cover most of the expenses associated with being on a youth hockey team, except for personal travel, equipment, and uniforms. However, there are some variations for each team which are noted below. Team fees include in-season practice ice, games, super weekends, tournaments, and Rapids operational costs. 

After 2 seasons of no increases to Team Fees (and reductions in some cases), the club is forced to raise fees this season by 5%. This is due to increased expenses in multiple areas.

12U and above OSHA (Oregon State Hockey Association) game scheduling requirements. Eligibility for the end of season State Tournament OSHA requires each team to play each other 4 times (2 away and 2 home). Depending on the number of teams within the age division we estimate 12-20 games played over 6-10 weekends.
