2021-22 Season Updates

REGISTRATION

Registration deadline of September 1 has passed and uniforms for the organization have been ordered. Some late registrations are currently being accepted.  Details below. 

8U, 10U, 12U - Late registrations accepted. Only a few spots left. Don't delay. Click here to register. 

Only a partial payment is required to register your player. Registration was announced to everyone on the Rapids email list on July 22 followed by social media announcements shortly thereafter.  Email the Registrar with any questions.

Uniforms

The Rapids will provide uniforms (home/away jerseys & socks) to all athletes. Sponsor logos will be sublimated directly onto the jersey during production. This means no more sewing parties in December after the Sponsor patches arrive. Go to the Uniform page for all the details on this process. 

Dryland Training

Making dryland training opportunities available throughout the season for 12U and above is a priority this year. We’ve partnered with the pros at Boss Sports Performance to lead the training at 14 and 18U levels.  12U is still in the planning stages. Go to the Dryland Training page for more info. 

Volunteer Requirement

$400 or 10 hours. Your choice.  The Rapids doesn't want your money. We want... actually no... we NEED a little bit of your time. Volunteers to do things like keep score, operate a check-in table, monitor a locker room or penalty box, and so much more.  

The fee is refundable when you complete your 10 hours. Accruing 10 hours is easy and quick. It's per family.  If you step into a Team Manager or Steering Committee role, the fee is waived right off the bat. Team Managers are needed! All your questions about volunteering are here.  

Safesport & Background Checks for Parents

At least 1 parent of each athlete must be Safesport Certified and Background Screened.  Safesport certification takes about 30 minutes to complete online.  The background check application takes just a few minutes to submit. USA Hockey facilitates both of these.

Pre Season Activities

SKATE SESSIONS for 12u, 14u, 18u

Location:  Rink Exchange, Eugene. 

Fee: $50/day. That's 2 skate sessions each day; one in the morning and one the afternoon. 

  • 9/11, 10:45-11:45 am and 3:00-4:00 pm 
  • 9/18, 10:45-11:45 am and 3:00-4:00pm

TRYOUTS

  • 8U and 10U - No tryouts required.
  • 12U - Dates TBD. Location: Pavilion in Bend. 
  • 14U -  9/25, 3-4:30 pm. Location:  Rink Exchange, Eugene. 
  • 18U - 9/25, 6:15pm - 7:45pm pm. Location:  Rink Exchange, Eugene. 

Fee: $75/session for 14U and 18U tryouts in Eugene.

TEAM NOTES

  • 20 Practice Hours 8 Games (Cross-ice) 
  • 2 Jamborees / Tournaments
  • We continue to be challenged with access to afternoon ice time at the pavilion. We are looking at alternative ice locations (Sunriver) to expand the practice schedule.
  • Three installment payments due November, December and January will be available.
  • Capacity is 30 athletes

 

10U

  • Uniform Fee: $130
  • Refundable Volunteer Surcharge: $400
  • Total Season Fee: $1,540/$1,740 Non-select/Select

TEAM NOTES

  • 50 Practice Hours 
  • 16 Games (Half-ice) 
  • 2 Tournaments Non-select / 3 Tournaments Select
  • Players will be placed on 2 even skill leveled rosters. Highest skill level players will be double rostered on a “10U select” roster for additional skill appropriate games.
  • Team structure will be assembled once the Pavilion opens in late October. 
  • Three installment payments due November, December and January will be available.
  • Capacity is 30 athletes

 

12U

  • Dryland Training Fee: TBD
  • Uniform Fee: $130
  • Refundable Volunteer Surcharge: $400

  • 60 Practice Hours 
  • 16 Games
  • 4 Tournaments
  • Team structure will be assembled once the Pavilion opens in late October.
  • Three installment payments due November, December and January will be available.

14U

  • 70 Practice Hours

  • 4 Tournaments
  • Team structure will be assembled based on tryouts scheduled on Saturday, September 25th, 3pm - 4:30pm, in Eugene. Players chosen as alternates will be invited to skate when the Pavilion opens in October for a second tryout. 
  • 50%+ of games will involve body checking.
  • Team off-ice activities begin shortly after tryouts.
  • Three installment payments due November, December and January will be available.
  • Capacity is 20 athletes

 

18U

Head Coach: Eddie Estey / Justin Duke

  • 50%+ of games will involve body checking.
  • Team activities begin shortly after tryouts.
  • Three installment payments due November, December and January will be available.
  • Capacity is 20 athletes
