Announcing an incredible opportunity! We have an opening for the Coaching Director.
The Coaching Director works closely with the Bend Rapids Youth Hockey Club (BRYHC) Steering Committee to execute our hockey programs and player development strategy to provide the best hockey experience for Rapids athletes and their families. Strong interpersonal skills including electronic communication skills are vital in this position in corresponding with the 30+ volunteer coaches, steering committee members, and parents.
This is a volunteer position (as are all Steering Committee roles) with voting privileges. There is no compensation. Certain expenses are eligible for reimbursement.

Preferred qualifications:
Coaching experience and current USA Hockey CEP Level 4 certification or equivalent coaching experience.
Clear understanding and ability to implement the USA Hockey, Athletic Development Model (ADM) and Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) programs.
Effective organizational, planning, and implementation skills. Familiarity with google workspace is helpful.
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
Specific responsibilities:
Supervise all Bend Rapids coaches.
Assemble and supervise the Coaching Committee along with the Vice Chair (with overall approval from the Executive Committee).
Receive and review coaching applications and together with the Coaching Committee, recommend head and applicable assistant coaches to the Executive Board for approval through an established interview and screening process
Ensure all coaches obtain necessary background screens/certifications/credentials.
Recruit/coordinate coaching staff for USA Hockey programs and Bend Rapids tryouts.
Implement ADM curriculum in all on and off ice events.
Assist coaching staff with their performance and growth through Monthly Meetings (dates TBD) and follow-thru of the CEP structure.
Participate and provide specific guidance for the player selection process and team tryouts.
Meet individually with coaches to review practice plans to ensure that they are appropriate at each age level and are consistent with ADM principles on a monthly basis.
Evaluate practice sessions and provide feedback to coaches to improve the coaching capability of Bend Rapids coaches.
Actively participate in Steering Committee meetings to report on organizational issues related to ADM and coaching staff.
Monitor practice to game ratios for each team with the Scheduler.
Maintain communication with the USA Hockey ADM Regional Manager and involve them as appropriate.
Conduct an end of year review and planning meeting for the upcoming season to develop plans for future improvements.
Ensure that individual coaches understand and enforce required equipment policies and ensure compliance in this area.
Build and maintain the Coaching Manual.
Work with Finance Manager on assigning appropriate Coaching Fees each season
