What an amazing year it's been!
Thank you to all the Steering Committee Members, Volunteers, Coaches, Players, Parents, Grand-Parents, Siblings and community members for making 2022-2023 another successful season for the Rapids! Thank you for your dedication to your players and our club.
We had some amazing highlights this season. Our first 16U team, our first AA team, our first trip to Nationals...over 5 years in the making! Dedicated ice time for Goalie Development, more players advancing to the next levels of the National Team Development Program at the Youth and Girls levels, and more player development than you can shake a stick at. We are continuing down a progressive path to become the elite hockey organization in Oregon.
While we had a positive season, there are always challenges to overcome and places to grow. It is evident that our competition level is starting to outpace other organizations in Oregon. We are working on creative ways to provide competitive options to our players in and out the state. Our Coaches continue to develop better and better players every season and we are adjusting to that evolution as quickly as we can. We are committed to creating clear paths of development for all players at every level.
Every year, we move the bar higher and higher. It truly takes a village to make this organization run. Like a duck swimming in the river...on the surface we are calm and focused, underneath, the wheels of progress are ever turning. Let's continue this path together to help our players grow and not only become the best hockey players they can be, but to grow into amazing humans in an amazing community. Thank you again.
I, and the rest of the Steering Committee, will be holding End of Season meetings for every age level this coming week at the Pavilion. I hope to see everyone at their respective meetings. Ideally, you would attend the age group your player plays in for next season. See the dates/times below. If you are unable to attend, I welcome a phone call or email to answer questions and go over the agenda.
