5/1/23 Update - Position has been filled. Thank you for your interest.

------ Original Announcement -----

Hello Rapids Community,

Do you have an interest in developing, designing, and selling the merchandise for the Rapids? Do you have a background or interest in running an online store? Would you enjoy researching new trends in hockey swag and gear? If so, please keep reading.

The Steering Committee is seeking a person, or small team of people, who would be interested in developing and running our merchandise line. For the last few years merchandising tasks have been shared by members of the Steering Committee; led by the Equipment Manager, in partnership with 3rd party vendors

We are now looking into the viability of a new model for our merchandise and someone to lead this project.  This will initially be an experimental position based on the viability of this program. Note: This merchandise project is separate from the Uniform program that is managed by the Equipment Coordinator.

Initial responsibilities will include the following:

  • Identify cost effective vendors that can provide the Rapids with merchandise such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, athletic/sweatpants, and any other type of merchandise that could be sold to our families throughout the year. Although we are not looking at this as a profit center for the club, it is still a form of fundraising for the organization that helps to keep registration costs down.
  • Vendors should be able to supply both screen printed and embroidered items. Products do not need to come from 1 source but should be sourced from companies that can produce them relatively fast. We don’t want families waiting 6-8 weeks for a t-shirt!
  • Develop a plan to sell our products. This could be through an online local partnership that will produce/ship our products (ex. hotteesink.com). Or, it could also include selling at the Pavilion a few times a year during Rapids events and home tournaments.
  • Working directly with the Bend Rapids Finance Manager to establish budgets for the purchasing of merchandise. Maintaining a continuous relationship with the Finance Manager.

Doesn’t this sound amazing?! Are you ready to be the next Giorgio Armani of hockey fashion? Do you have a hockey rink bestie that would crush this?

Please reach out to me (Todd), or our Finance Director Muna Mackey, with your questions and/or expression of interest.
